Challenge Four: 11th Card

Jane by Rubber Romance and sentiment by A Muse.
My other favorite from today. More Rubber Romance stamps are definitely on my wish list. I stamped Jane on SU watercolor paper. Mostly I colored her in using my blender pen and reinkers (dripped into the stamp pad lid) with a little help from my markers. Most of the time I outline the image with my marker and then blend/color in using ink and a blender pen. I'll go back sometimes, in the same way, with a darker color to give shadow and depth.

Aside: This is how I color almost all of my images. I am super comfortable with this method. I've tried a lot of other ways (w/c pencils, wcw crayons, aquapainters, prismacolor pencils and gamsol, etc etc) ... and I should practise with those more. But hey, I'm an instant satisfaction kind of gal ... I hope this answers your question, Liz!! :)

Back to the card, I did use a bashful blue re-inker and aquapainter to "wash" around her silhouette. I really wanted some depth; regardless, putting in that last touch always makes me nervous (what if I RUIN it after all this work??? Ack!!!). I mounted the w/c paper onto chocolate chip and colored the tiny edge with stardust gel pen, which also highlighted the patterned paper. This LilyKate by Basic Gray is so evocative of some Japanese papers I have hoarded away, so shimmery and delicate. This card really dazzles with all the bling. I covered the SU word window punch (palette burnt umber ink on bashful blue cs) with versamark and IIEP. I did some HEAVY stardust stickles on her 'rocks' ... if only they were real. Sigh.

Oh a quick shout out ... my sis went to Bloomington IL today and stopped at Scrapbook Friend'z (pronounced friend-zee, as in frenzy). (Question: How come she lives in a smallish town in central IL and has 2-3 options for A*Muse*A*Palooza and I live in the "grand metropolis" of KC and there are none short of a four hour drive??? Not that I won't be going on said four hour drive without further complaint, mind you ....) ANYWHOOO, here are four great reasons why you should get yo' self to Scrapbook Friend'z if you're in that area ...
1. They are hosting some super fun stuff for A*Muse*A*Palooza. And have lots of A Muse stamps with more on the way shortly.
2. Basic grey 6x6 pads.
3. Well organized marvy punches out the yin yang.
4. Super great prices on all of the above!!!
