"What a week I'm havin'!"

... think Walter (played by the often brilliant Eugene Levy) in Splash. {Side note: I really can't count how many times I've seen that movie but I have a serious, if nostalgic, love for it. It's embarrassing how my subconscious is littered with little quotes from that move (and Dirty Dancing and about a dozen others). I know I'm not the only one. }

Beat that for a totally random and confusing start to this post. Alright, I've been out of town but now I'm back. Phew. I'll spare y'all a detailed recounting of some of the more insane moments of this past week. I especially will not mention the calamitous 5 1/2 hr drive home that took over 7!!! (Oops! I just did.) Regardless I had, as always, a fantastic time with my sister, her boys, and her stamps. And her local scrap store had a lovely time with my wallet. Can you say May Arts ribbon? I can. Yip-yip-yipeeto!

Here's some of what we got accomplished...

Here is an utter CASE of
this brilliant card by Heather Nichols. My sis HAD to have this set (and darn her, now I do too!). Also, I HAD to do the Heather thing with white on Kraft so I followed her lead of coloring with the white watercolor wonder crayon on Kraft. Why re-invent the the wheel? I hope if she ever saw this post she'd be flattered and not annoyed. It was a lot of fun.
Deets: Stamps: Bunny Hugs by Stampin' Up! (r), Paper: barely banana, tempting turquoise, regal rose, Kraft, polka dots and paisley designer series by SU! Ink: jet black staz-on; Etc: neutrals and regal WWC's, round tab punch both by SU!, white brads by American crafts?, pom pom by ??

This card is pretty straightforward. The main image is sponged with cool Caribbean -- it and the layer behind are distressed. Everything is up on dimensionals except the bear, who is highlighted with stickles (the doodle swirl with SSGP). LOVE this ribbon. It is my new "favorite thing" ... I stupidly only bought 2yds and now I want to cry big salty tears at it's impending demise. The brads are super sweet too.
Deets: Stamps: Bundle of Joy, Doodle This, and Quick Thinking by Stampin' Up! (r), Paper: cool Caribbean, close to cocoa and whisper white by SU! Ink: timber brown staz-on, close to cocoa SU! marker and SU! blender pen; Etc: stardust stickles, cream 3/16th eyelets by???, THE BOMB May Arts ribbon and sakura stardust gel pen

This is not a big departure from my traditional layout feel but I still struggled to get this card to make me happy. Ultimately, I'm satisfied with it (are y'all having deja vu too? I have a feeling this is an often repeated statement of mine, just like "then I highlighted with SSGP"). ANYWAY ... this cute little guy's spots are highlighted with stickles. I embossed the whole background with detail white EP. Don'tcha just LOVE these BRADS?? Yes, they are brads that look like buttons. What will they think of next? Sliced bread? Talking pictures? Jeez!
Deets: Stamps: Bundle of Joy, Linen, and Warm Words by Stampin' Up! (r), Paper: whisper white, creamy caramel, and pink passion (1st use and I have to say I totally underestimated this color!) by SU! Ink: timber brown staz-on, creamy caramel and pink passion markers, blender pen by SU!; Etc: stardust stickles, white button brads by making memories

You didn't think I'd forgotten about my bellas this week did you??? Heavens to Betsy NO!!! Here's one little gal from last Sunday ... This is the front and back of a tag I made for a good friend who is, yep, super!!! It's really basic but I did use my dusty ol' Xyron 510 to laminate the whole deal. I finished it off with a 1/8th white eyelet and some turquoise grosgrain so it could hang from something. Whee!
Deets: Stamps: Doodle Alphabet and Doodle Numbers by Stampin' Up!, small oval by AMuse and Superbella by Stamping Bella; Paper: whisper white, basic black, tempting turquoise, regal rose, polka dots and paisley designer series by SU! Ink: jet black staz-on, markers: tempting turquoise, old olive, so saffron, regal rose, sahara sand, pretty in pink, really rust and blender pen and versamarker; Etc: corner tag punch by SU!, white eyelet by making memories, turquoise grosgrain by SU!, iridescent ice EP by SU!

Love these new cards you made. The bunny card is adorable! Got my own Bella stamps last week. Can't wait to use them.

BTW, sorry about Kansas's loss to UCLA. I'm a USC girl so I HATE UCLA.
