Variations on a theme ...

I could PDR (architect-ese for Post Design Rationalization) this and come up with some fancy shmancy excuse. The plain truth is that I am too tweaked out on Benadryl allergy meds to come up with unique and interesting layout schemes. I'll leave that to the rest of y'all for tonight. Frankly, it's impressive that I could come up with anything at all considering the allergy/cold attack I had today.

Card #1

The CS here is only orange, chocolate chip, and whisper white. I stamped the sentiment and the lanterns in timber brown stazon. It might be hard to see but the A Muse rectangle is stamped in barely banana (one off) behind the lanterns -- it gives a good lighting effect. I stamped the party hats with my (NEW!) glue pad and then sprinkled the card with dazzling diamonds glitter. I used my sakura quickie glue pen on the lantern details and added glitter there too. Now remind me to clean off the scanner bed because it's totally *sparkly* from this card.

The CS here is pixie pink, chocolate chip and whisper white. The ink is timber brown stazon, pixie pink and a teeny tiny bit of bashful and celery. I covered the glasses with a sakura glaze pen and used the A Muse twinkle stickers on the flower centers. It may not be initially obvious but I attached the little pink prima with a brown eyelet. Also I used the stamp-ma-jig to get the sentiment straight. Its so worth the time it takes to use this tool, especially when you're adding that very last stamp/detail to your card and then it goes crooked and you could practically erupt into flames over it! Or maybe it only drives ME this nuts ... since I do that ALL the time! Anyway...

The CS is celery, pretty in pink, chocolate chip and whisper white. I stamped the image in brown stazon and the sentiment in versamark (then used SU!'s pink EP on it). Tisha will be happy to know that pink layer is two of the 5 ka-jillion mega scalloped squares she punched for her little girl's birth announcements put to excellent use. The grosgrain is by SU! and it's strategically hiding the overlap of the two-square-punches-laid-together-to-make-a-rectangle trick. I colored this cone in with the Prismacolor Markers I bought at Hobby Lobby today. I'm still in debate about whether or not to keep them ... we'll see. I highlighted the dots on the top of the cone with sakura stardust gel pen (I've been imagining this pink flavor as my sister's favorite ... Pink Bubble Gum from Baskin Robbins).
