Tres Jolie!

I love this new paper ... My Mind's Eye, Tres Jolie ("Bright" Polka Dot). It's got the slightest bit of texture and I really love love love this color combo ... cool Caribbean, tempting turquoise, real red, so saffron and mellow moss. Scrumptious!

Here are two cards I did today. Please note the BIRD. The coveted acrylic Rhonna Farrer bird. I found FOUR of them at Archiver's today ... can you say blog candy?

The red button is from Doodlebug and the turquoise one is SU! I actually sewed these to the paper with linen thread. It took me forever to find some needles in my dusty and unloved sewing kit (!!) but .. ha ha! .. success was mine! The oval and sentiment are both A Muse. The layout is from this week's (4/24) Sketch Challenge on SCS.

The ladies (javabellas by stamping bella) were stamped on SU w/c paper and the sentiment and large oval (both by A Muse) was stamped on SU vanilla. Every dang thing was distressed. The moss and apricot ribbon are SU! the turquoise ric rac is from Joanne's (the tiny 1$ spools) and the red ric rac (also on the bird card) is some stuff I found in my sewing kit ... Hoo doggie! I love finding good uses for stashed away stuff like that, now if only I can find a card that can use 6 yards of navy flannel. Now neither of these cards have any BLING on them so I may add some tomorrow but I really wanted to get them posted. I'm super happy with how they turned out. Merci, as always, for visiting.

OK. It's late and we are going to be up early early early tomorrow and not just for our insomniac daughter. IT'S THE TROLLEY RUN!!! I'll post pics as soon as possible. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!!!!

Well, I have the bird, but I wish I could color mine the way you did yours. Wonderful card -- and blog!
